There are many reasons why Avon Cosmetics is diversifying into different segments. The first reason was an old concept that they started early 1990s called “door-to-door marketing”. This concept requires selling its products through doorways or personally delivering them to potential customers. Door-to-door marketing does have a certain drawback though. The potential customers are usually housewives who are too busy at home to go out shopping or who do not have the time to go door-to-door.
