Anew Vitamin C Collection by Avon
Avon has jumped on the vitamin C bandwagon with their new Anew Vitamin C, a collection of skin brightening products. The face serum contains the amount of vitamin C in 30 oranges, and supposedly brightens skin while smoothing texture and improving skin tone. It also gives a warming sensation when activated with water, opening pores to help remove impurities.
Radiance Maximizing Serum
Avon’s newest addition to its Vitamin C range, the Radiance Maximizing Serum, promises to boost skin’s radiance and brighten it for a more even tone. The oil-free serum contains as much vitamin C as 30 oranges, and also nourishes and revitalizes skin while improving its structure, visibly smoothing out the look of fine lines.
It’s important to remember that not all vitamin C serums are created equal, and a lot of what determines whether or not a product works well has to do with its concentration, formula, and price tag. It’s essential to check out the ingredients label to ensure that the main active ingredient, L-ascorbic acid (which may be listed as various other names on the bottle) is present and at a good concentration, and that it’s stable and not oxidizing.
This particular serum has a high concentration of L-ascorbic acid and is stabilized with glycerine. That said, it does have quite a bit of alcohol in it, which can be drying to the skin. It also has a fairly strong fragrance, which can be off-putting to anyone sensitive to fragrance or who has a sensitive skin type.
It is, however, a great option for those with normal to dry skin who want a more radiant and healthy-looking complexion. The serum’s texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly, and you only need to apply two or three drops before your day and night cream. If you’re looking for something that packs more of a punch, Avon has also launched Radiance Booster Capsules, which contain ‘a power shot of 20% stabilized Vitamin C that stays active on the skin for 48 hours’ and can be added to your night cream for extra radiance and protection.
